"My children both needed extra help with reading and comprehension and the school was of little help in guiding me on exactly what to do to help them. “Just read with them” was all I got. Quite frankly i felt their teaching models and strategies were a one fit all and not tailored to their strengths and needs. Then i reached out to Jenna. Where do I even begin?! First off she did an in depth assessment which shed light on exactly what my kids’ strengths and challenges are - this is vaguely done in the public school system. We have been going to tutoring with Ms Jenna since August. She has made my boys now love reading! They get excited to go to tutoring. My youngest just did a diagnostic reading exam - the school has a goal for them to improve by 10 pts from the last test in august - well my kid improved by 103 pts! Welcome to my educational journey!I'm a proud graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University, where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education PreK-3rd grade.

When it comes to literacy, I don't just teach it; I specialize in it!
My K-12 Reading Endorsement is a testament to my specialized skills in nurturing young readers and fostering a love for language.Throughout my career, I've been recognized as a Highly Effective Teacher, consistently delivering excellence in literacy education. I had the honor of being a Model Teacher for the Children's Literacy Initiative, where my dedication to advancing literacy skills was acknowledged and celebrated.As a Team Leader for four years, I've embraced the collaborative spirit, working hand-in-hand with fellow educators to create an environment where every child can thrive. For me, it's about creating a rich, supportive, and dynamic learning space where each child can reach their full potential.

Miss Jenna the literacy tutor is teaching an elementary grade student how to read.

The heart of my teaching philosophy is where every child is seen as a unique capable learner on the path to becoming the best version of themselves. In the early years of literacy, we lay the groundwork for a lifetime of curiosity and knowledge. Children have a strong desire to learn and it is our responsibility as adults to nurture and empower these budding minds.Literacy is the cornerstone of learning. It provides children with the tools to seek information and comprehend the world around them.
